Ackermannbogen Housing Complex in Munich / Germany

The housing development at Ackermannbogen consists of four apartment buildings and eight smaller townhouses. A living space of 27,000 m² is divided into 319 units where 50 percent of the heat is supplied by the solar roof. Over 3,000 m² of FI large-area collectors were installed, which replaced sheeting material across the entire roof. Even though the roof is angled 14° away from the south and has a low pitch of just 18.5°, the collectors perform efficiently and deliver free heat that can be drawn from the concrete tank even into the late winter
